How to find the right product
- Search by the original part number. Enter the original part number in the search bar at the top of the webshop, or scan the barcode using the barcode icon. You will then see all compatible products.
- No number? Select the category Flails and filter by Suitable for brand, followed by Product type (for example Flail or Knives), Bore and Fitting dimensions.
- Compare the dimensions with your old part. The product page lists all dimensions and the machines the product fits. The bottom of the product page often also lists the fitting materials you need, such as bolts, nuts, locking pins or bushes.
The original part number is often shown on the flail or in your machine's parts manual.
What information do you need?
| Machine | Make, type and working width of the flail mower or mowing arm. |
|---|---|
| Original part number | Often shown on the flail or in the parts manual. |
| Flail type | Hammer flail, PTA hammer flail, flail knife, Y-knife or another knife. |
| Dimensions | Length, width, thickness, the diameter of the bore (the hole the bolt passes through) and the fitting dimension (the width at the mounting point). |
| Fitting | The bolt, bush or bracket securing the flail. |
What should you look out for when ordering?
Please note: left or right. Flails often have a left-hand and a right-hand version. When ordering, check which version you need and how many of each. Not sure? Place your old part next to the photo on the product page, or check the Mounting filter.
- Replace them as a complete set. Preferably replace all the flails at the same time so that the rotor remains balanced. An unbalanced rotor causes vibration and wears the bearings more quickly.
- Count the number of flails on the rotor. Knives are often fitted in pairs per bracket.
- Replace the fittings as well. Check the bolts, bushes and brackets. Worn fitting materials can cause a flail to come loose.
